Tallahassee and Florida State offers its residents a variety of entertainment options throughout the year. To keep you busy on campus, check out Market Days in the Union on Wednesdays, a concert at Club Down Under, and be sure to get your bowling shoes ready for Crenshaw Lanes. Grab a coffee at Starbucks or Einsteins on your way to class. Both are conveniently located in the middle of campus, and stop by Chili's or Panchero's for some lunch in between classes. Fall weekends are defined by the Florida State football game day experience. The place to be on Fall Friday nights is the Downtown Getdown where thousands of people gather in gorgeous downtown Tallahassee for live music and food. On Saturdays strap on your Garnet and Gold and head to one of the tailgate parties that line FSU's campus from dawn until dusk. Be sure to practice the Warchant before you head into Doak Campbell Stadium with 83,000 other Seminoles! Summertime is a chance to soak up the blue skies and head to the FSU reservation with hundreds of other FSU students to enjoy sun and the sand at Lake Bradford. The FSU reservation offers swimming, volleyball, canoing, a rock wall, and plenty of other things. When you're in the lake keep an eye out for the jet-ski's and the water skiers! They're everywhere! With both Florida State and Florida A&M located in the heart of the city, Tallahassee's nightlife thrives. Be sure to catch some live jazz at the Winery or maybe some stand-up comedy at the Comedy Zone. You can also follow the big crowds to one of Tallahassee's popular night clubs like Mint Lounge or Chubby's. If you're looking for some adventure, be sure to check out the go-carts and laser tag at the Fun Station. Or if you're looking for a relaxed afternoon, take a drive north on one of Tallahassee's beautiful canopied roads like Meridian or Centerville. All in all, Tallahassee has dozens of things to keep you busy, and it is a place you will love calling home. |
